James P. Devlin is President of Governance Systems, a strategic partner of Orion that focuses on Knowledge Management and Process Governance.
With more than 20 years of consulting, facilitation and management experience, Mr. Devlin is an expert in decision-making and business processes and a master facilitator and trainer. Jim’s focus is to help organizations and individuals leverage their knowledge to accomplish their objectives.
Mr. Devlin understands the complex business world. He helps organizations large and small to make better decisions about key areas of their business ―more quickly― so that they can compete and win.

Jim’s clients include NASA, the Trinidad and Tobago – Water and Sewerage Authority, Dow Chemical, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Exxon-Mobil, Medtronic, the US Army, the Government of Brunei, John Hancock Financial Services and the Inter-American Development Bank. Prior to founding Synth Solutions, Mr. Devlin was Vice President of Professional Services for six years with Expert Choice, Inc.
Fully trilingual in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Mr. Devlin is engaged in doctoral research at George Washington University (GWU), with a focus on knowledge management. He holds a Certificate in Knowledge Management from GWU, a Master of Philosophy degree from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University, New York City.
Jim has completed advanced training in Process Mapping and Analysis and Process Measurement and Improvement and has have extensive experience and training in a variety of business process transformation and change management methodologies and software tools. Mr. Devlin is a Certified Knowledge and Innovation ManagerTM (KMCI) and a Certified Quality Function Deployment QFDI Black BeltTM (QFDI).
